Friends of Teign is a registered non profit making charity (more information here) run purely by volunteers, our committee consists of:

We are also happy to say that at present we have 5 committee members. Our aim is to raise funds and pass them onto the Heads of Departments and other staff each term so they can purchase items for the class room, hold activities, and even field trips. In the past FOT have held fashion shows, quiz evenings, car boot sales and one of our committee members holds a Bingo evening every month, this is open to all local residents not just school children and staff.

 

It is our aim to enrich each child’s time at Teign School by possibly providing items that the curriculum’s budget can’t. Extras that the teachers want to share and include which in turn would improve learning and atmosphere in or out of the class room.

 

Spring term 2010 FOT donated £1,416 to various departments.

 

We do advertise our activities on the school website; please keep an eye on us.

WELL DONE EVERYONE WHO DONATED, WE HAVE RAISED £284 FOR OUR SCHOOL.

Last term one of the departments that benefited from a donation from Friends of Teign was the House System, the heads of houses wanted to be able to present trophies and prizes to winning houses.
Here are some of the Sharks looking triumphant and happy with 1 of the trophies purchased with money raised by Friends of Teign and parents.

Each term we donate as much as we can to as many departments as we can. Feel free to contact us if you have any mad and fun fund raising ideas.

 

More and more of us shop on line, so please join The Giving Machine and as you shop they arrange the donations from the sales on line from the retailers. Teign School is easy to find and the website is easy to navigate. Please have a go.
